One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other


You know what I think is weird? Fake doughnuts, also known as...plain doughnuts.
 
I mean you just stroll into a Tim Horton's (or a Dunkin Donuts for my american friends. P.S. they make the best vanilla chai latte) and you see all the different flavours and types...glazed, Boston cream, vanilla dip, apple fritter, maple, double chocolate glazed. And there...just sitting among all the wonderful flavours, acting like it belongs...there is plain. 

Right there, laying next to Boston cream in it's little tissue paper lined tray with walls of the silver tray surrounding it...just like the real ones. 

But it's not! It's not one of them. It has no frosting, no sprinkles, no glaze, no cream, fillings or toppings at all. It shouldn't even be called a doughnut, or a pastry of any kind. 
 
It's just a bagel...a bagel!

    Haha this is crazy because Scott just got back with breakfast from Tim's I wanted a hashbrown and a decaf and instead got a decaf and a plain doughnut! Yuck!! I didn't even waste the calories on it! And your right it's not even a doughnut it's a damn bagel!

I've been keeping a secret. I'm not even going to make you wait. I'm just going to come out and say it. I really don't like when people say, "Hey, I have news" and then ramble on for fifteen minutes about how they didn't know how to tell you, and would you like the good news or the bad news first. Unexpected?

Just got the call that I had been fearing but perhaps was expecting. The embryos were not there. We have nothing. Heartbroken doesn't begin to describe how I am feeling.

Dilemma

I’m having a bit of a dilemma. Which is putting it mildly. I am not sure whether to shut the factory down for good, or keep it chugging along in its pitiful, yet marginally functioning state. If things were normal, if *I* was normal (cue hysterical laughter here), then I might be happy to let things chug along as they were and see what happens. But things (my body and I) are far from normal and so I feel like I need to make a decision either way. Which really sucks and makes me feel a renewed sense of frustration, irritation and mourning for the sorry state of affairs of my reproductive bits. We recently had an appointment with our RE to discuss our options and see where we stand. It was great to touch base with Dr. L but as expected, nothing has really changed. My fertility has been on a fairly rapid decline and there's not much we can do to change that (FSH last tested at 20).
